Holly Photographed her first wedding in 2008 and has had an increasing number of weddings and family shoots ever since.
LHC: Tell us about what you do.
Holly: As a photographer, I have a broad range of categories in which I work. I love doing weddings and they are my primary. I also do kids, families, senior photos and commercial work. After a shoot, I typically rush home to back up my images and begin editing them. I shoot in RAW so every image needs to be edited. After the editing is done, I choose some that I would like to display on my blog and I also add them to Facebook so clients can tag and share the images as well. Then, I send a high resolution disk to the client!

LHC: What do you love most about your job?
Holly: Making my clients happy! Photography is the best way to capture a moment and treasure it forever. Whether it be a wedding or just snapping the kids in the backyard, capturing those memories and seeing the look on clients’ faces when they remember the moment is the best! I also like to push myself to try new things – and love it when it works!
LHC: Favorite moment in a wedding?
Holly: Hmmm. Tough one. I love the ‘getting ready’ images – gives time for me to be creative and capture the raw emotion (and jitters!) of the bride and groom. I also love the dancing. Oh, the dancing. It is so tough to NOT feel the joy and love during the reception and just want to bust a move! I always feel a pull at the end of my time at a wedding to keep going when the music is good and the guests are having a great time!
LHC: What is your personal wedding/event style?
Holly: I’d say traditional, yet unique. I do like the traditional images of the bride and groom during the ceremony and reception, but also love grabbing those candids of them as well as the guests! I am always looking for new angles and ways to capture the moments that are special to each couple.

LHC: Explain the booking process for weddings.
Holly: I generally work best via email – so most bookings start with an email inquiry, which I respond to and ask a few questions. After that, if the couple would like to meet up, we can do that, otherwise I point them towards my blog and portfolio site for them to review my work (if they have not already). If they are looking to book, I draw them up a contract and ask them to send it back either via email or mail with a deposit and then they are booked!
LHC: What else would you like readers to know?
Holly: I love photography and making clients happy. I am always up for a challenge and love crazy ideas, locations, etc. During the day I am a technology teacher, so I try to not overbook in order to have images back in a timely fashion. Feel free to contact me viz email or Facebook with any questions!
